Rock with Siren
Rock with Siren is a pioneering film production company dedicated to creating inclusive media that resonates with audiences of all backgrounds. We believe in the power of cinema to inspire, motivate, inform, and change hearts.
Our Mission
At Rock with Siren, our mission is clear: to produce high-quality films that reflect the diversity of the world we live in. We are passionate about telling stories that matter, stories that challenge the mind and take risk. Our stories give a voice to those who are often unheard. Simply we want to tell stories that normalize and celebrate diversity across the spectrum, including LGBTQ+ identities, all genders, disabilities, and races. From drama to horror, every film we create will create a message of inclusivity and acceptance, from our cast to our crew.
Our Crew Commitment
Our commitment to inclusivity extends beyond the screen. At Rock with Siren, we believe that a diverse crew leads to more authentic storytelling. We are dedicated to building a team that reflects our values, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to contribute their unique voice and talents to our projects. Inclusivity is not just a goal; it is a fundamental part of who we are.
Why Horror?
While horror films are not our only genre, it represents one of the most compelling forms of media we produce. Creating horror is not only enjoyable but also provides a therapeutic outlet for individuals suffering from anxiety and PTSD. It offers a way for people to face their fears, address their pain, and channel their anger in a fun and safe environment. We don’t produce horror just to scare or indulge in dark fantasies. Instead, horror serves as a powerful means for people to work through some of life’s most difficult challenges. Many of us believe that the adrenaline rush and sense of survival horror provides can actually make us stronger.
Horror Inclusivity
Horror as a genre faces significant challenges regarding inclusivity, with only 12% of horror film directors being women. Shannon Ford Thompson, the founder of Rock with Siren, is working to change that. She aims to foster greater diversity in the horror community. As the owner of the long-running Buried Alive Horror Film Festival in Atlanta, now in its 17th year, and as the president of both the Horror Film Society and the Atlanta Horror Society, Shannon is leading efforts to create a more inclusive horror scene. Allowing people from all walks of life to network their talents. The Atlanta Horror Society meets every fourth Thursday of the month at Mambo Zombie in Atlanta for drinks, filmmakers networking, and trivia.
At the helm of Rock with Siren, LLC stands a visionary leader with a passion for all things horror, Shannon Ford Thompson. As a woman in horror Shannon brings a unique perspective and an unyielding commitment to delivering fear-inducing stories that resonate with audiences.
