Turn on your leg lamps! Ralphie Returns in A Christmas Story Sequel!
They say good things come to those who wait, and that couldn’t be more true in the case of fans of the classic movie A Christmas Story. After years of pleas, negotiations, and casting rumors, it was finally announced that the sequel to Ralphie Parker’s story would be made into a movie! And we have the trailer right here! Check it out to see Ralphie return to his family home just in time for Christmas… and plenty of shenanigans!
Ralphie returns home to give his family a Christmas his father would be proud of. This time around he and the gang from his childhood will have to go head-to-head with the most formidable opponent of them all: adulthood. But the familiar town bully has other plans.
Some of the original characters are set to reprise their roles; Ian Petrella (Randy), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), Scott Schwartz (Flick), and R.D. Robb (Schwartz). While new cast members include Erinn Hayes, Julianna Layne, and River Drosche as Ralphie’s family.
40 years later, the 51-year-old Ralphie is working on reconnecting with his deceased father by spending a month in his childhood home with his wife and children. In his quest to spread Christmas cheer to the children in his old neighborhood, Ralphie will make new friends and rediscover old ones.
The new film is set in the 1970s, and is based on the film from 1983, A Christmas Story, which was set in 1940s.
The Christmas Story Sequel is director Clay Kaytis (“The Christmas Chronicles,”) and executive produced and written by Nick Schenk. The film is also produced through Warner Bros., Legendary and Wild West Picture Show Productions.
